There is something magical about whipped cream. It goes with pretty much anything. You can eat it with fruit, add it to your ice cream, cakes, cupcakes, etc… It’s light, fluffy and super easy to make.
I didn’t discover the greatness of whipped cream until I tried a homemade version. The store-bought whipped cream never excited my taste buds, it was always too sweet and frankly tasted like chemicals that it is loaded with. (It’s almost as bad as canned cranberry sauce, yuck!)
What’s more exciting is that you can have fun with your homemade whipped cream by adding different natural flavors to it. In this recipe I simply added fresh raspberries, which gave it a little tang. It also gave whipped cream a slightly pink hue, which makes it look even more tempting. I served it in waffle cups with strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- ¾ cup raspberries
- Add whipping cream, sugar and raspberries to a bowl. With an electric mixer (I use the hand held one) beat the ingredients until the mixture becomes well blended, thick and fluffy.
